Everything DiSC Agile EQ

Everything DiSC Agile EQ: DiSC + EQ

Everything DiSC Agile EQ combines the simplicity of DiSC with emotional intelligence (EQ) training. In a world of instant communications, emotional intelligence is needed more than ever.

Compared to other EQ training, Everything DiSC Agile EQ doesn’t only survey a person’s EQ. Agile EQ focuses on helping individuals understand which EQ behaviors they currently know and which they need to practice. The program combines a personalized report for each individual with an engaging training program. The report and training cover the following topics:

  1. Your DiSC Style
  2. Your EQ Mindsets
  3. Learning to stretch to other EQ Mindsets

What is Agile EQ?

Within the Agile EQ framework, agility is the ability to recognize the emotional and social needs of a situation and act accordingly. Agility is necessary because different situations call for different responses. Some situations call for us to respond in ways that may not be the most intuitive or comfortable for us.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the ability to change behavior to match any emotional and social situation. Compared to intelligence (IQ), anyone is able to increase their emotional intelligence.

Review how the Training Works

The Everything DiSC Agile EQ profile provides a person an in-depth look at their DiSC Style and their EQ Mindsets.

A person's DiSC style is indicated with a dot on the DiSC Map. The closer to the center of the map suggests a less inclined DiSC Style. On the other hand, the closer to the edge of the map suggests a stronger inclination towards that DiSC Style. Eight DiSC styles are represented in the Everything DiSC profile: D, Di/iD, i, iS/Si, S, SC/CS, C, CD/DC

The Agile EQ profile represents a person's EQ with an effort meter for each of the eight unique EQ Mindsets. Each Mindset represents a specific EQ skill, and the effort meter represents how difficult  or easy it is for a person to call up that particular mindset.

For example, there is an Objective Mindset and an Outgoing Mindset which are on the opposite ends of the DiSC map. A person's DiSC Style may correlate with each particular Mindset, but it's not guaranteed. A person who scores low on the Outgoing Mindset requires more effort to call up this Mindset in certain situations. If they placed high on the Objective Mindset, less effort is needed to use this particular Mindset.

Everything DiSC® provides the most advanced DISC-based assessments available today. The testing environment uses an algorithm called Adaptive Testing (similar to that used in the SAT for college entrance) to provide both precision and accuracy.

Most other DISC-based assessments (including DiSC Classic) still use a forced-choice testing environment. This testing environment has been used in behavioral testing since the 1950s.  With forced-choice, the respondent chooses words from sets of four to identify which is Most or Least like them. Prior to the advent of adaptive testing, this was the best method to develop a behavioral assessment.

Everything DiSC assessments feature a five-point Likert scale which provides for easier response and eliminates the challenge of defining single words.

Adaptive testing  provides specific questions based on how the previous questions were answered. So, if a person’s responses are inconsistent on a specific scale (e.g. endorsing some C items high and some C items low), they’ll receive additional questions to reveal their true C score. Or, if their responses indicate two equally strong styles, more questions are given to determine if one of the styles is stronger.

The result:  32% greater accuracy than DiSC Classic (and subsequently typical forced-choice instrument).

Furthermore, the assessment tests a person on eight scales (D, Di/iD, i, iS/Si, S, SC/CS, C, CD/DC) rather than the standard four-scales (D, i, S, C). This method makes the report more personalized than ever.
