Four-Activities to Keep Your DiSC Training Alive

DiSC Culture

You just completed your DiSC Training session. Now what?

The most frequent question that we receive from someone after they complete an Everything DiSC Training is, “My participants loved my session! They want to do more… what else can I do with them and DiSC?”

This feedback is one of two reasons that we both train and sell Wiley‘s version of DiSC compared to other DISC based assessments. What’s the other reason? Everything DiSC also provides additional activities that trainers, teams and organizations can use to keep participants learning about themselves while enhancing their team dynamics.

Here are four activities you can use to keep your DiSC Training alive:

What is MyEverythingDiSC?

MyEverythingDiSC is a platform that learners can use to view their profile, compare their DiSC styles with others, create group maps, and application-specific activities (i.e. unlimited Customer Interaction guides for the DiSC Sales Profile).

How to Use it:

Ask your participants to create their account and to log into MyEverythingDiSC. Task them to both to create a group map with other participants that they work and to discuss their group dynamics. Discuss ways they could use this platform with their team or throughout the organization.

What are Comparison Reports?

EPIC Account administrators can create comparison reports with all Everything DiSC reports. Regardless if a manager has the DiSC Management Report and someone on the sales team has the DiSC Sales report, these two people can have a comparison report. These reports are 10 pages long and provide two comparison view points: Report A compared to Report B; Report B compared with Report A.

How to Use it:

Have the leader of your group schedule coaching sessions to discuss the differences in DiSC styles between the leader and the employee. These sessions will build trust, and open up any communication issues. If the team leader is uncomfortable providing this coaching session on their own, practice with them either with a sample report or your own report.

Cost: Free

What are Everything DiSC Group Reports?

Everything DiSC has two extensive DiSC Group Reports that teams can use to help identify their groups DiSC culture. We have used these reports as a follow-up session to help the group understand their particular DiSC style as a team. These reports range from 13 to 17 pages and provide a wealth of information.

How to Use it:

First, give a copy of this report to the leader of your group. Ask them to read through the report and identify which characteristics in the report they feel identifies the culture of the group.

Ask the group leader to take the report and meet with their team. Task them to identify potential challenges the group might have because of the DiSC style that makes up the majority of the group. Ask the leader to question if there are any DiSC styles or DiSC Priorities in the group that are ignored because they aren’t in the majority (i.e. too focused on results and not enough accuracy)

Identify any changes the group wants to make in how they complete projects or go about their normal workday to ensure each style is contributing to the overall group.

Cost: $107.50 per report

What is DiSC Productive Conflict?

Everything DiSC Productive conflict doesn’t teach Conflict Resolution. Rather, it teaches teams and individuals to embrace conflict and curb destructive thoughts that makes conflict destructive. In Pat Lencioni’s New York Times Bestseller, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, conflict is praised and encouraged to be ‘open, constructive, and idealogical’. A lack of conflict is almost worse problem than destructive conflict.

Everything DiSC Productive Conflict works to build trust amongst team members so teams as a whole can engage in constructive conflict.

How to Use it:

Similar to the Everything DiSC Workplace training program, DiSC Productive Conflict includes a productive conflict assessment and a fully developed training program. This session reviews the following topics:

  1. Introduction to DiSC
  2. Understanding Your DiSC Style in Conflict
  3. Understanding Other DiSC Styles in Conflict
  4. Why we choose destructive thoughts
  5. Recognizing Automatic Thoughts

Cost: $86.00 per report / $1,095 for the Training Program Materials
